No doubt many of you have heard of this great site called Kiva.
It is a site where you can lend money to entrepreneurs in the third world.
You can browse to see who these entrepreneurs are and what they need some help to set up.
A friend of mine has had great success getting his lending back, and I thought it was a good Christmas pressie option. You can get Kiva gift certificates here.
I just gave a vision impaired Peruvian farmer called Felix a hand to buy some fertiliser.
You can make a world of difference by helping someone help themselves through Kiva.
If you need some convincing about some realities about Christmas present purchases and the value of charitable/service/no-thing type gifts – read this post I wrote last Christmas – A Christmas Challenge.
