Tom Owad outlines just how easy it is to get information from sites and demonstrates how he was able to pinpoint users reading certain book titles and plot them on google maps. Read about it here.

Using Amazon wishlists he did a query to return people who were reading the book 1984 (map on the left).

He was then able to pinpoint them on a map using Google maps.

People can associate thier mailing addressed with thier wishlists to enable other people to make purchases for them. It seems this data is easily accessed.
