It seems that many marketers are leveraging the entghusiasm of young people for creating user-generated content.
Some of these campaigns are run entirely on YouTube, sometimes they are purely microsites and often a combination of both. Where YouTube can handle the voting why not leave it completely there, or alternatively leverage the YouTube API within your own microsite.
The rapper Pee Diddy recently advertised on his MySpace for a new PA inviting fans to submit a video on YouTube to be considered. Article about it here
