photosynth demo – virtual models from the collective memory

Photosynth Demo – new visual tool being developed by Microsoft is truly amazing.

This video shows this software being demoed.

Most notable is a virtual model of the Paris Notre Dame being created by images from Flickr tagged with “Notre Dam”. It is truly amazing.

All the images are hyperlinked together spatially, according to where they were geographically captured and rendered together to create an “immensely rich virtual model from the collective memory“.

As geeky as I am, this is truly cool and very gestalt.
